How to Prepare for Your Treatments

At Mana Medical Center, great results start before you walk through the door. Every treatment plan is personalized, so your provider will give you instructions specific to you. Use this guide as a starting point, and call us any time you have a question.

For Every Visit

Complete your health history. Please fill out your intake forms before your appointment, including medications, supplements, allergies, and past procedures.
Tell us about changes. Let us know if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breastfeeding, or recently ill, or if you have started any new medication.
Bring your questions. Write them down so nothing gets missed.
Arrive a few minutes early. This gives you time to check in and review consent forms.
Do not stop prescribed medication on your own. If you are unsure whether something affects your treatment, call us first.

Treatment-Specific Preparation

Laser Facials, Laser Skin Treatments, and Skin Tightening

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners before your visit. Treated skin should not be sunburned or irritated.
  • Pause retinoids, exfoliating acids, and harsh scrubs as directed by your provider.
  • Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face or treatment area.
  • Let us know if you have a history of cold sores or unusual scarring.

Laser Hair Removal

  • Shave the treatment area before your visit. Do not wax, thread, or pluck, as the laser needs the hair root in place.
  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning on the area.
  • Skip lotions, oils, and deodorant on the treatment area.

Tattoo Removal

  • Keep the area out of the sun and free of tanning products.
  • Arrive with clean, moisturizer-free skin.
  • Let us know about any skin changes or irritation before your session.

Botox and Dermal Fillers

  • Ask us before taking aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or herbal supplements, which can increase bruising. We will tell you what is right for you.
  • Limit alcohol for 24 hours before your visit.
  • Come with a clean face, and plan your treatment a couple of weeks ahead of big events.

Sclerotherapy and Varicose Vein Treatment

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring shorts if the legs will be treated.
  • Do not apply lotion or oil to your legs on the day of treatment.
  • Ask us whether compression stockings are recommended for your plan, and have them ready.
  • Plan for light activity afterward, and avoid scheduling strenuous workouts the same day.

Hair Restoration

  • Come with a clean scalp, and avoid heavy styling products on the day.
  • Review your medications and supplements with your provider beforehand.

Skin Tag Removal and Nail Fungal Treatment

  • Come with clean skin or nails, free of polish, lotion, or creams on the area.
  • Let us know about any history of poor healing or infection.

Vitamin and Medical IV Restoration, Vitamin Injections, and NAD+

  • Drink plenty of water and eat a balanced meal beforehand unless told otherwise.
  • Wear a top with sleeves that roll up easily.
  • Share any history of allergies, kidney or heart concerns, or sensitivity to needles so we can plan safely.
  • Allow extra time, as IV sessions can take a while.

Peptide Therapy

  • Bring a full list of your medications and supplements.
  • Complete any recommended blood work before starting, so your plan is based on your numbers.
  • Review storage and injection instructions with your provider, and ask us to walk you through them if you are unsure.

Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy

  • Complete your blood work before your consultation so your plan is based on your numbers.
  • If fasting or a specific time of day is required for labs, we will let you know in advance.
  • Bring a list of symptoms, how long you have had them, and any questions about your goals.

Medical Weight Loss and Body Fat Analysis Scan

  • Complete any requested blood work before your first visit.
  • For your body fat scan, wear comfortable clothing, avoid heavy exercise beforehand, and let us know if you have any implanted devices.
  • Think about your goals, past experiences, and routines so we can build a plan that fits your life.

Wellness Consultations

  • Come ready to talk about your health history, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, and goals.
  • Bring recent lab results or records from other providers if you have them.
  • If labs will be drawn, we will tell you whether fasting is needed.

Minor Illnesses and Injuries

  • Bring your insurance information, a list of current medications, and any relevant records.
  • Note when symptoms started and anything that makes them better or worse.
