Bio Identical Hormone Replacement BHRT for Men and Women

Peri-Menopause can be the best time in a Woman’s life if her hormones are balanced. Even women of menstrating age can experience upsetting hormonal lows. Reasons to consider BHRT are many; improvement in memory and information recall, better sleep, improved energy and interest in sex, less hot flashes and night sweats, improved heart health and maintaining bone strength. Hormone imbalances can also cause anxiety, depression, vaginal dryness, palpitations, dry skin, thinning or hair loss, frequent urinary infections and aching joints, muscle pain, and changes in body fat distribution. BHRT can also improve cholesterol levels in men and women.

Men as young as the age of 35 can experience low levels of testosterone. Reasons for men to start BHRT are lower than usual energy levels, longer muscle recovery after workouts, foggy brain, sleep disturbances, lower libido, low mood, irritability, and increased body fat despite diet and exercise.

We offer BHRT via pellet insertion (most preferred) and weekly injections. Occasionally we will use topical preparations if indicated.

Women will need a recent negative pap, mammo, and blood work within the last 3 months. Men will need the same bloodwork, including a PSA level.

As a physician specializing in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), I’ve witnessed remarkable improvements in patients’ quality of life—sometimes in ways even they didn’t expect. Hormone pellets, which deliver a steady, natural release of hormones over time, are most often prescribed to address symptoms of menopause, andropause, and hormonal imbalance.

However, research and real-world clinical experience continue to reveal additional benefits. Below are nine conditions that have shown unexpected improvement in patients using hormone pellet therapy.

  1. Stress Urinary Incontinence

Many women experience bladder leakage when coughing, laughing, or exercising. Estrogen and testosterone pellets can strengthen the pelvic floor muscles and improve the integrity of the urinary tract tissues, helping to reduce or eliminate incontinence symptoms.

  1. Irritable Bladder

Low hormone levels—particularly estrogen—can make the bladder more sensitive, leading to urgency or discomfort. Restoring balance helps calm the bladder and improves overall urinary control.

  1. Recurrent Bladder Infections

Hormonal decline can alter the vaginal and urinary microbiome, making recurrent infections more common. BHRT supports mucosal health and restores natural protective barriers, reducing infection frequency.

  1. Interstitial Cystitis

Patients suffering from chronic bladder pain and inflammation have reported reduced irritation and improved comfort after hormone pellet therapy. This improvement is believed to result from better tissue hydration and reduced inflammatory response.

  1. Vulvodynia

Chronic vulvar pain can be associated with estrogen and testosterone deficiency. Replenishing these hormones helps regenerate vulvar tissue, enhance elasticity, and decrease discomfort.

  1. Anemia

Testosterone, often overlooked in women’s health, plays a role in stimulating red blood cell production. Optimizing testosterone levels through pellets can help improve mild anemia and restore energy levels.

  1. Vaginal Moisture

Perhaps one of the most immediate and noticeable benefits, estrogen pellets restore natural lubrication, elasticity, and pH balance—leading to improved comfort and intimacy.

  1. Osteoarthritis

Hormone pellets can reduce inflammation, promote joint lubrication, and support bone density. Many patients report reduced pain and stiffness, particularly post-menopause.

  1. Hormonal Migraines

Hormonal fluctuations are a key trigger for migraines in both women and men. By providing consistent hormone delivery, pellets help minimize these fluctuations—often resulting in fewer and less severe migraines.

Why Hormone Pellets?

Unlike creams or pills, pellets deliver a steady, bioidentical dose of hormones directly into the bloodstream for 3–6 months. This minimizes peaks and valleys in hormone levels and allows the body to maintain more natural balance and rhythm.

If you’re struggling with any of the above conditions—or simply want to restore hormonal balance and vitality—BHRT pellet therapy may be a safe and effective option worth discussing with your healthcare provider.
